I am a product of diverse experiences and backgrounds. After spending the first ten years of my life in the posh environs of Greenwich, Connecticut, my parents moved the family to the wilds of Wapiti, Wyoming, just outside of Yellowstone National Park. I spent my high school years at a boarding school near Santa Barbara, California, before returning to Connecticut for college.

After graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in Art, I decided to move south to Memphis, Tennessee. Though I enjoyed living in Memphis, the siren call of Hollywood brought me to Los Angeles, where I enrolled in an MFA program at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. Shortly after earning my degree, I founded my own production company, Beartooth Productions — named after the Beartooth mountain range in southern Montana.

After 10 years in Los Angeles, my wife and I moved to Missouri to enter the world of academia. We became professors at Missouri Western State University in the school of Cinema, Theatre, and Dance. Three years later, I returned to my boarding-school roots, accepting a teaching position at Blair Academy in New Jersey, where I taught film production, graphic design, and photography for five years.

In 2023, in order to pursue creative projects that had been on the back burner, and ready for a new chapter in our lives, my wife and I decided to move to Portugal with our two kids and black lab. We have since added a cavalier king charles spaniel to the mix.
